"What is highly valued among men
is detestable in God's sight."
(Luke 16:15)
Once, having been asked by the Pharisees
when the kingdom of God would come,
Jesus replied,
"The kingdom of God
does not come with your careful observation,
nor will people say,
'Here it is,' or 'There it is,'
because the kingdom of God is within you.
(Luke 17:20-21)
People were also bringing babies to Jesus
to have Him touch them.
When the disciples saw this,
they rebuked them.
But Jesus called the children to Him and said,
"Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I tell you the truth,
anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God
like a little child
will never enter it."
(Luke 18:15-17)
When He came near the place
where the road goes down the Mount of Olives,
the whole crowd of disciples
began joyfully to praise God in loud voices
for all the miracles they had seen:
"Blessed is the King
who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Peace in heaven
and glory in the highest!"
(Luke 19:37-38)
