Portions: Deuteronomy 2-4

The Lord said to me,
"Give the the people these orders:
'You are about to pass through the territory
of your brothers the descendants of Esau,
who live in Seir.
They will be afraid of you, but be very careful.
Do not provoke them to war,
for I will not give you any of their land,
not even enough to put your foot on.
I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own.
You are to pay them in silver
for the food you eat and the water you drink.'"
Then the Lord said to me,
"Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war,
for I will not give you any part of their land.
I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession."
(Deuteronomy 2:2,4-6,9)

We took all the towns on the plateau, and all Gilead,
and all Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei,
towns of Og's kingdom in Bashan.
(Only Og king of Bashan

was left of the remnant of the Rephaites.
His bed was made of iron
and was more than nine cubits long and four cubits wide.
[thireen feet long and six feet wide]
It is still in the Rabaah of the Ammonites.)
(Deuteronomy 3:10-11

Hear now, O Israel,
the decrees and laws I am about to teach you.
Follow them
so that you may live
and go in and take possession of the land
that the Lord,
the God of your fathers,
is giving you.
Do not add to what I command you
and do not subtract from it,
but keep the commands of the Lord your God
that I give you.
(Deuteronomy 4:1-2)
