Portions: Joel 2 - 3 ; Amos 1 - 2

Blow the trumpet in Zion;
sound the alarm on My holy hill.
Let all who live in the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord is coming.
(Joel 2:1)

The Lord will roar from Zion
and thunder from Jerusalem;
the earth and the sky will tremble.
But the Lord will be a refuge for His people,
a stronghold for the people of Israel.
(Joel 16)

The words of Amos,
one of the shepherds of Tekoa -
what he saw concerning Israel
two years before the earthquake,
when Uzziah was king of Judah
and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel.

For three sins of Judah,
even for four,
I will not turn back My punishment.
Because they have rejected the law of the Lord
and have not kept His decrees,
they have been led astray by false gods,
the gods of their ancestors followed,
I will send fire upon Judah
that will consume the fortresses of Jerusalem.
