In your marketplace they traded with you
beautiful garments, blue fabric,
embroidered work and multicolored rugs
with cords twisted and tightly knotted.
(Ezekiel 27:24)
You were in Eden, the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
ruby, topaz and emerald,
chrysolite, onyx and jasper,
sapphire, turquoise and beryl.
Your settings and mountings were made of gold;
on the day you were created
they were prepared.
(Ezekiel 28:13)
"'Egypt will no longer
be a source of confidence for the people of Israel
but will be a reminder of their sin
in turning to her for help.
Then they will know
that I am the Sovereign Lord.'"
(Ezekiel 29:16)
'"On that day
messengers will go out from Me in ships
to frighten Cush out of her complacency.
Anguish will take hold of them
on the day of Egypt's doom,
for it is sure to come.'"
(Ezekiel 30:9)
