God teaches my hands war
and places a bow of brass in my arms. (Psalms 18:34)

"War" here signifies war in a spiritual sense, which is war against evils and falsities;
this is the war that God teaches;
and "the bow of brass" signifies the doctrine of charity;
God places this in the arms, that is, makes it to prevail.
