TCR 846

1. In the Word, in the whole and in every part of it,
there is a spiritual sense
corresponding to the natural sense;
by means of that sense
the Word is a means of conjunction
for people of the Church with the Lord,
and of association with angels;
and the holiness of the Word resides in that sense.

 2. The correspondences of which the spiritual sense
consists are now revealed.
. . . it is now revealed by the Lord
in order that there may be effected
conjunction of the people of the Church with Him,
and their association with angels.
This is done by means of the Word,
in which all things, both in general and in particular,
are correspondences.
