Therefore this is what the Lord says:
"If you repent,
I will restore you that you may serve Me;
if you utter worthy, not worthless, words,
you will be My spokesman.
Let this people turn to you,
but you must not turn to them.
(Jeremiah 15:19)
O Lord, my strength and my fortress,
my refuge in time of distress,
to you the nations will come
from the ends of the earth and say,
"Our fathers possessed nothing but false gods,
worthless idols that did them no good.
Do men make their own gods?
Yes, but they are not gods!"
Therefore I will teach them -
this time I will teach them My power and might.
Then they will know that My name is the Lord.
(Jeremiah 16:19-21)
This is what the Lord says:
"Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
he will not see prosperity when it comes.
He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in Him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.
(Jeremiah 17:5-8)
Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved,
for you are the One I praise.
(Jeremiah 17:14)
They said, "Come, let's make plans against Jeremiah;
for the teaching of the law by the priest will not be lost,
nor will counsel from the wise,
nor the word from the prophets.
So come, let's attack him with our tongues
and pay no attention to anything he says."
(Jeremiah 18:18)
