Portions: Jeremiah 11 - 14

The Lord said to me,
"Proclaim all these words in the towns of Judah
and in the streets of Jerusalem:
'Listen to the terms of this covenant
and follow them.
From the time I brought your forefathers
up from Egypt until today,
I warned them again and again,
saying, "Obey me."
But they did not listen or pay attention;
instead,
they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts.'"
(Jeremiah 11:6-8)

They will sow wheat but reap thorns;
they will wear themselves out but gain nothing.
So bear the same of your harvest
because of the Lord's fierce anger.
(Jeremiah 12:13)

Can the Ethiopian change his skin
or the leopard its spots?
Neither can you do good
who are accustomed to doing evil.
(Jeremiah 13:23)

This is what the Lord says about this people:
"They greatly love to wander;
they do not restrain their feet.
So the Lord does not accept them;
He will now remember their wickedness
and punish them for their sins."
(Jeremiah 14:10)
