AE 405d [24]
Because "the Mount of Olives" which was before Jerusalem eastward,
signified the Divine love,
and "Jerusalem from the east"
Divine truth proceeding from Divine good, as was said above,
the Lord was accustomed to stay on that mount...:
Jesus during the days was teaching in the temple;
but at night He went out and lodged in the mount
that is called the Mount of Olives.
(Luke 21:37; 22:39; John 8:1)
...He did all things from the Divine love,
the "the Mount of Olives" signified that love...

Taking this together with your previous notes, isn't it wonderful to see how the Lord from Divine love tore away the falsified appearances (hypocrisy) represented by the veil of the temple (which was torn it two), and rolled away the stone of falsity itself, both of which had blocked access to the Lord, so that now all people everywhere have direct access to Him through His Word glorified by His life and teaching (and of course, now enlightened by the lamp of doctrine through the Writings)!
What a powerful message! And NO vicarious atonement (human sacrifice, a pagan idea) is required!!
