And the sons of Israel went and they did
as Jehovah commanded Moses and Aaron.
(Exodus 7:28)

That this means that those who are of the spiritual church
will obey truth Divine,
is evident from the meaning of "going and doing,"
as being to obey;
from the representation of the sons of Israel,
as being those who are of the spiritual church;
and from the representation of Moses and Aaron,
as being truth Divine;
Moses internal truth,
and Aaron external.

(Exodus 7:28)

That this means performance from the will,
is evident from the fact that it is said a second time "they did,"
and that the first time
it means performance from the understanding,
and this second time from the will.
For it is common in the Word
for a thing to be seemingly repeated;
but the first mention
relates to the truth which is of the understanding,
and the second to the good which is of the will.
The reason is that in every detail of the Word
there is the heavenly marriage,
which is that of good and truth;
and, in the supreme sense, the Divine marriage,
which is that of the Divine good in the Lord
and of the Divine truth proceeding from Him.
From this also it can be seen
that the Word is most holy.
