And Jacob went to his way,
and the angels of God ran to meet him.
And Jacob said when he saw them,
This is the camp of God;
and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.
(Genesis 32:1-2)
"And Jacob went to his way,"
means the successive advance of truth
toward its conjunction with spiritual and celestial good;
"and the angels of God ran to meet him,"
means enlightenment from good;
"and Jacob said when he saw them,
This is the camp of God,"
means heaven;
"and he called the name of that place Mahanaim,"
means the quality of the state.
