AE 376
The good of charity and the good of faith
in their essence are truth,
because that good is implanted by the Lord
in man's intellectual part
by means of the truths that are called the truths of faith,
and when man lives according to these truths
they become goods;
for by means of truths
a new will is formed in that part
and whatever proceeds from the will is called good.
This will, moreover, is the same as conscience,
and conscience is a conscience of truth,
for it is formed by truths of every kind
from the doctrine of the church,
and from the sense of the letter of the Word.
