Clothed in sackcloth,
(Revelation 11:3)
signifies in mourning
because of the non-reception of Divine good and Divine truth.
. . . here because of their non-reception;
for the witnesses were seen clothed in sackcloth,
and they signify the Divine good,
from which is every good of love and charity,
and the Divine truth,
from which is every truth of doctrine and faith;
these appear to be in mourning when they are not received,
but in joy when they are received.
