HH 603
These things which have been said in this work
about heaven, the world of spirits, and hell,
will be obscure to those
who are not in the delight of knowing spiritual truths,
but will be clear to those who are in the delight,
and especially to those
who are in the true affection of truth for the sake of truth,
that is, who love truth because it is true;
for whatever is loved enters with light into the mind's thought,
especially when the truth is loved,
because all truth is in light.

This was the FIRST full paragraph of the Writings I ever read. I found HH in a junk store in a suburb of Atlanta in 2005 and thumbed through it. I was fascinated but afraid to get entangled in any consorting with spirits, or any cultism. As a Christian I pondered whether this book was 'safe' to buy, and wondered how I might be sure, & a still silent voice said 'look at the last paragraph'.
I did, I bought the book, and here I am 4 years later, baptised into the NC, a member of a local church, growing in the Word and the Writings, separated from Calvinism, learning to move from reformation into regeneration.
In His Service,
