. . . for they who are sincere
do not wish to speak
or even think
anything
which others may not know . . .
whereas they who are not willing
that others should know what they speak,
pass judgment on others,
think ill of them and well of themselves,
and at last contract such a habit
that they think and speak ill even of the church,
of heaven, (even) of the Lord Himself.

What an amazing quote. In my life I have always wanted to be an open book with no secrets to hide. I am troubled by the secret meetings that control governments from behind the scenes - which seems to be the norm in the world and in our "democratic" society. It has to do with the love of dominion and
control over others. Even within my profession I have often thought that the extreme degree of confidentiality required was counterproductive. If we are to
bear one another's burdens, we need to know what they are! This is true within families and friendships. Communication openness and trust are key to solving
interpersonal and world difficulties. This quote is a great encouragement to me
that I am on the right track and not having "boundary issues" as others define it. Thank you!

That is a sad reality of how far down we can go.
