... it is from Divine order that comfortings follow the pains of temptations,
just as morning and dawn follow evening and night.

... the Lord is more present in a state of temptations
than out of this state,
although it appears otherwise.

In the other life
heaven is given to every one
in accordance with the things of faith and charity in him,
for charity and faith make heaven with every one;
but when it is said that charity and faith make haven,
there is meant the life of charity and faith.
